New Literature from Europe Festival 2015

New Literature From Europe Festival

The New Literature from Europe Festival (NLE) is an annual celebration of writing from across the European continent. Featuring readings and discussions between leading and emerging literary voices from Europe, and some of America’s foremost writers and critics, the Festival celebrates important new European literature in translation. Founded in 2003, the NLE Festival has quickly become one of New York City’s top literature in translation events, attracting hundreds of award-winning, best-selling and new authors from many diverse European countries each year. The NLE Festival is a European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) project, co-organized with New York based European cultural institutes. Most Festival events are free and open to the public.

A new website has just been launched and will be sharing details on the engaging two-day program of events organized at different venues in New York City in the coming weeks.  This year’s program, produced in collaboration with 20 Square Feet, promises to be the most high-profile Festival to date. Pairing the visiting writers with high-profile US authors and moderators such as Paul Auster, Ian Buruma, and Siri Hustvedt will ensure larger audience numbers and greater press engagement than previous years.

The forthcoming NLE Festival, will take place on November 6-7, 2015. If you would like your institution to participate, please send us a note.
